Dr. Athanassios I. Tsoukas graduated in the top 10% of his class from the University of Athens Medical School in 1989. He developed an early interest in vascular surgery. At Harvard Medical School he spent two years developing innovative angioscopic techniques. In 1991 he started his General Surgery Residency at Tufts University School of Medicine. In 1996 he became Chief Surgical Resident at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center of Boston. He then became a Clinical Vascular Fellow for two years at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He had special training in vascular and endovascular surgery. He has been practicing in Florida since 1998.

Dr. Tsoukas has become intimately involved in developing the Vascular and Endovascular Program at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach. He also participated in numerous advanced laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Tsoukas is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of several vascular organizations. He has published numerous original scientific articles in vascular surgery in peer review journals. Dr. Tsoukas has a special interest in carotid surgery – PTA and has participated in the CREST trial.
